About Me

I’m Samuel Lowe (he/him), a mathematician, data scientist, and full-stack web developer in the greater Boston area. I graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics in 2023 and an M.S. in Applied Math in 2025, mostly focusing on probability and number theory (with a focus in elliptic curves). Some of my projects, like nprcore.me have been recognized by National Public Radio and All Things Considered. You can see more in my full portfolio and GitHub.
Since graduating, I’ve been doing freelance work as a data analyst at the Center for Strategic Politics (some of my work there, like the NYC 2025 Democratic primary poll, has been featured in the New York Times) and Oasis Management Inc, where I’m the lead full-stack software engineer for the website and employee portal. If you’re interested in hiring me for full- or part-time work, you can view my resume and contact me through LinkedIn or by emailing sam@samlowe.dev.
This site also hosts any miscellaneous notes, thoughts, or articles that I think others might find interesting, and to serve as a personal site to share my interests in an organized way. Here are some of the highlights:
- Essays, articles, and explainers I’ve written, as well as my undergraduate thesis on elliptic curves and the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture
- Roadmaps for self-studying math and computer programming
- Discussions of my lists of my favorite books, games, movies (on Letterboxd), my media backlog, etc.
- I play a lot of Magic: the Gathering, and you can find my decks (on Archidekt) and random lists I’ve put together with friends of my favorite cards and flavor text
